It's hard to write about my work without sounding like I've
disappeared up my own derrière, so I'll stick to the facts:
I originally trained as a designer specialising in
jewellery and silversmithing, but in the last few years
have branched out into the heady world of textiles. My
inspiration comes from the history and language of crafts,
and birds. I like birds so much it's almost creepy.
I currently work mainly in hand embroidery using a mixture
of classic stitches and stuff I make up on the hoof. For
fine detailed work such as portraits I use freehand
machining and rough appliqué. My jewellery background also
means I am physically incapable of finishing anything
without adding a gazillion beads or weird found objects.
Commission offers, collaboration ideas and hellos are
always welcome. Thanks for dropping by!
